The TAVY 7 . . . is back on Sunday 23 October 2011 |

MARTIN GIBBS The 2011 race will be run in memory of one of the TAVY 7's greatest supporters, Martin Gibbs. Martin tragically passed away earlier this year after a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer called Mesothelioma. Martin was a runner: a member of Tavistock Athletic Club. He ran the TAVY 7 twice and became a dedicated fan. But he gave more than just his entry fee to this event. As Managing Director of Mansbridge & Balment he was very much behind the generous support the company gave to the event through it's sponsorship. M & B have sponsored the TAVY 7 for many, many years now but in recent times they have shown unstinting support, not only to this race, but also the fledgling TAVY 13 which burst onto the scene in 2010. Martin was the key driver behind this. |

As a tribute to Martin, we are dedicating the 2011 TAVY 7 to Martin and also raising money for St Lukes Hospice, the charity which took amazing care of him during his latter days. |
We hope you can give generously by entering the race, the Fun Run , or, perhaps, just coming along on the day to show your support. Thank you for reading this. |
